Blood sugar stabilization is important when it comes to being able to not only function but to thrive in your day to day life. Without proper blood sugar stabilization you may experience a variety of symptoms that can be less than pleasing to deal with. Some of these symptoms may include; increased thirst, frequent urination, blurred vision, headache, fatigue, dry mouth, weakness, confusion, weight changes and even slow healing of wounds.

Blood sugar irregularities fall into two different categories: hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) or hyperglycemia (high blood sugar). These two irregularities can occur for many reasons, a few being; meal timing, the amount of physical activity and stress you put on your body, lack of meal pairing (protein, fat and carb), the body not producing enough insulin and therefore leading to too much sugar in the body.

There are many solutions to balancing your blood sugar levels and there are many natural and more sustainable ways to incorporate healthy blood sugar balancing techniques. Oftentimes prescription medication can be helpful, but it can also have some less than enjoyable short-term and long-term side effects.

Here are some natural solutions to lowering high blood sugar:

  1. Exercising Regularly

When exercising choose resistance training, low-impact cardio and yoga for your choice of exercise. Too much high intensity training can influence high blood sugar in some instances.

  1. Manage your carbohydrate intake

Being conscious of your carbohydrate intake can be helpful! Making sure you are getting enough to fuel your body, but not too much.

  1. Eat more fiber

Including fiber in most of your bigger meals can help control your blood sugar levels throughout the day.

  1. Stay hydrated throughout the day

Drinking enough water to ensure you are well hydrated can be a helpful tool for blood sugar regulation.

  1. Implement balanced meals

Eating a protein, fat and carb source with every meal will help not only keep you fuller, faster and for longer. But, it will also help stabilize your blood sugars.

  1. Be conscious of low and high glycemic index foods

Taking note of what kinds of carbohydrate sources you are consuming is important. Avoiding refined sugars and carbohydrates that have a high glycemic index is important.

  1. Manage your stress levels

Stress plays a huge role in the influence of how your body uses sugar. It is important to know if your body is too stressed out and finding ways to manage that stress.

  1. Monitor your blood sugar levels

Monitoring your blood sugar levels can be a super helpful tool and provide insight on how your body deals with blood sugar. This will also help better understand what tips might be best suited for your blood sugar.

  1. Supplementing with berberine

Berberine can be a great supplement to incorporate into your diet if recommended by your practitioner.

  1. Eating every 3-4 hours

By eating every 3-4 hours this will help stabilize your blood sugars and prevent sugar crashes from happening.

Blood sugar is oftentimes an overlooked aspect of health. It can be easily influenced by various factors and easily balanced by many easy to incorporate techniques. One main takeaway is how important meal timing, meal pairing (protein, fat, carb, and fiber) and stress management is! With the help of these natural remedies you will be on your way to success with perfect blood sugar balance.
