Vitamin D is one of the most important vitamins amongst others that help our body function optimally. The average American is oftentimes significantly depleted of Vitamin D, and or they are not supplementing correctly and efficiently with the right Vitamin D supplements. Studies suggest that 42% of US adults have low Vitamin D levels. Here are some symptoms of a Vitamin D deficiency.

Low Vitamin D:

  1. Fatigue
  2. Bone Pain – in some severe cases bone density issues can arise
  3. Muscle weakness, cramps and pains
  4. 4. Mood Changes like depression or anxiety

Vitamin D is one of the most depleted Vitamins in the average American because of the way our society has shaped us. Working from 9-5 sitting in front of a computer most of the day with little to no outdoor time. On top of being inside for most of the day, the standard American diet is not suitable for supporting optimal Vitamin D levels. Here are some great tips and tricks on how to support optimal Vitamin D levels.

How to increase Vitamin D levels:

  1. Get adequate sunlight – this is daily sun exposure for about 30 min every day
  2. Consume Beef Liver
  3. Wild Caught Sockeye Salmon – a few times a week
  4. Egg YolksVitamin D Supplement – Ancestral Supplements Placenta

It’s always your best practice to test and not guess when it comes to deciding whether or not you need to incorporate extra Vitamin D supplements. The HTMA, hair tissue mineral analysis test, can be extremely helpful in providing insight on what minerals your body is either absorbing properly and what minerals you are losing and or need better help absorbing. It is also a great way to identify what minerals and vitamins you might be depleted in.

Once you have identified your body’s state of Vitamin D you can begin to incorporate some more lifestyle changes before you add a bunch of supplements to your diet. Here are some helpful lifestyle changes to add into your everyday routine for optimal health and support Vitamin D levels.

Lifestyle changes for optimal Vitamin D levels:

  1. Get outside – as much as you can get outside, stand in the sun, and put your feet in the dirt.
  2. Step away from your desk and phone as much as possible to take breaks throughout the day. This is a chance to get fresh air and sunlight.
  3. Incorporate more pro-metabolic foods that offer bioavailable nutrients and minerals.
  4. Get the D Minder Pro App to help track your sun exposure

In conclusion, Vitamin D is an important vitamin to take note of when assessing your overall health. You could be experiencing symptoms related to a Vitamin D deficiency that could be easily supported through nutrition and some daily sun exposure. Keep in mind that you can heal through nutrition and lifestyle changes.
